Rodger Broomé has been a life-long athlete playing sports such as soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball, and ice hockey. He has also competed as a powerlifter, cyclist, and martial artist. He is also a musician who played percussion, trumpet and french horn through his adolescent years.
Furthermore, Rodger is a 20 year veteran of the police and fire departments of West Jordan City, much of that time involved working as a training officer and instructor. His highest acquired rank is battalion chief. Part of his career history has involved leading and coordinating basic training courses for firefighters and serving as a field training officer (FTO) in the police department.
Rodger's research interests are in police and firefighter psychology and his consulting practice is influenced by the Humanistic and Existential-Phenomenological Psychology perspective.
Rodger holds a master's degree in Psychology from Saybrook University, in San Francisco, CA.; a bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science & an associate's degree in Fire Science from Utah Valley University, in Orem, Utah; and an associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is currently completing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at Saybrook University.
He is a member of the American Psychological Association Div. 32, Association of Humanistic Psychologists, Association of Applied Sport Psychology, and Fraternal Order of Police.
